Enjoy an evening
wrapped in chocolate on Friday, Feb. 4 at
Shepard’s Point Restaurant in downtown
Morehead City as a part of this year’s
Carolina Chocolate Festival. All proceeds
from the event will benefit the Boys and
Girls Club of Coastal Carolina.
Attendees will
enjoy wine, champagne, dinner, a dessert
buffet and a chocolate auction in addition
to a hilarious cabaret performance by Mrs.
Joan Freed of Portland, Ore.
Freed will
perform her one-woman musical comedy,
“Chocolate Confessions,” which focuses on
love, life and of course – chocolate. The
production includes an original monologue
paired with less well-known theater songs to
bring forth a one-of-a-kind performance. The
show features chocolate shop owner Coco
Bliss and a zany assortment of customers who
each share their passion for chocolate and a
deep dark secret. Chocolate anecdotes such
as the origin of M&M candies are part of the
show’s entertainment.
“Chocolate
Confessions,” which originally premiered in
October of 2001, garnered sold-out crowds
and was so well liked that it began an
extended run at Portland Art Museum’s North
Wing. After playing to thousands throughout
the Northwest, the one-person musical is now
on tour nationally.
Limited tickets
for the dinner and show are available for
$175 per couple or $100 individual. For more
information call the Boys and Girls club at
222-3007.
